Being Human Clothing, the socially conscious fashion brand unveiled its exclusive sustainable clothing collection in partnership with Fairtrade India. The powerful collaboration underscores their commitment to promoting social change through fashion decisions and supporting Fairtrade Cotton farmers in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The new line is available at Being Human brand stores nationwide and online at beinghumanclothing.com. With the exciting addition of the new sustainable collection, the brand is poised to elevate its commitment to fair and transparent supply chain practices. The move promises to make a remarkable impact not only on the runway but also on our planet.

Ms. Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Managing Director, Being Human Clothing, was present at the occasion and felicitated the farmers from Gujrat and Tamil Nadu who traveled to the event representing their farming communities that grew the fairtrade certified cotton that went into the collection of Being Human Clothing.

Mr. Sanjeev Rao, CEO, Being Human Clothing, emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “Our ‘Being Conscious’ Range is a testament to our commitment to making sustainable fashion mainstream. It will offer a responsible style statement to its consumers. This is for the first time a brand is launching an entire Fairtrade wardrobe of Polos, t-shirts, shirts and Chinos. We believe that fashion should not come at the expense of people or the planet. Our Fairtrade collaboration ensures that we are making a real difference in the lives of those who produce our clothing and those who will conserve the planet.”

Mr. Abhishek Jani, CEO, Fairtrade India said, “Being Human is recognized globally as a cause driven brand, driving social impact in education and healthcare. This Fairtrade certified ‘Being Conscious’ clothing collection extends their commitment to the society and the environment, delving deeper into the supply chain, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal 12, which is Responsible Consumption and Production. Crafted with cotton from Fairtrade Certified Indian farmers, the collection empowers lives. These farmers receive a better price, fostering sustainability in agriculture, environment, and society. We are delighted to have such a strong brand championing impact through fashion, elevating the industry beyond exploitation.”

Mr. Vivek Sandhwar, COO, Being Human Clothing added “This collaboration is not just about fashion; it’s about making a positive impact on the world, working towards supporting SDGs by United Nations. By choosing the Being Human and Fairtrade collection, consumers are not just making a fashion statement; they’re supporting a movement towards ethical and sustainable practices in the fashion industry”

The new line-up tells a story of sustainability, responsible sourcing, and fair labor practices. Therefore, the greater the number of clothes customers buy from the Being Human Fairtrade collection, the larger the share of the Fairtrade Premium earned by the farmers’ organization.

Fast fashion is becoming faster, and this has further increased the social and environmental footprint of fashion. Being Human recognizes its role in making sustainable fashion more mainstream. The launch of Being Conscious Range represents a significant stride in this pursuit to drive fashion led by Purpose, a purpose to make our planet a better place as we move forward. The Fairtrade Certified and Labelled collection by Being Human signifies the adherence to stringent social and environmental sustainability standards in the manufacturing processes at the farms and factories. This ensures better compensation to the farmers, strict prohibition of toxic pesticides and elimination of child labor.

Being Human’s new collection in collaboration with Fairtrade India offers customers the most fashionable apparels with a responsible style statement. This is the first time a brand is launching an entire Fairtrade Collection from Chinos to Shirts and T-shirts from the start. The collection has been made with cotton grown by Fairtrade Certified farmers from across India. The Cotton for the Chinos has been grown by farmers from Manavadar Organic Farmer’s Association promoted by Suminter Organic Junagadh district in Gujarat. The Shirts have been made with Cotton from Anandhi Farmers Association in Tamil Nadu, promoted by Anandhi Textstyles.
