August 27th marks the second year of an all-day cinematic event for the price of a $4 ticket for any film of the chosen. The Cinema Foundation, President Jackie Brenneman, expressed the success of the first National Cinema Day and welcomed everyone to join the movie-going experience.
“We look forward to gathering at the movies and celebrating an exciting slate of new releases and classics, from beloved family favorites and outrageous comedies to thought-provoking dramas and thrilling adventures,” said Brenneman. “Let’s all go!”
Whether you enjoyed Barbie, Oppenheimer, or even the re-release of Jurassic Park, there is an offering for movie-goers of all ages and interests.
The one-day event brings delight at the movies for discounted admission plus applicable taxes hosted by over three thousand cinema chains and thirty thousand screens worldwide. Marlo Marketing Vice President Collen McCormick Blair has expressed that Showcase Cinemas is excited to participate again to celebrate movies to the movie-going experience and that National Cinema Day is an excellent reminder.
“There is nothing like the experience of seeing a film on the big screen the way it’s meant to be seen and at Showcase Cinemas,” said McCormick Blair. “We know that people want and need to go to the movies from the freshly-popped popcorn and comfy reclining seats to the huge screen, immersive sound, and most importantly, the sense of community, and you simply can’t recreate the experience of going to the movies from your couch.”
Team member of the National Association of Theatre and The Cinema Foundation has said that last year, in Fandango’s consumer survey of more than two thousand United States tickets, cinema chains noted the reasons moviegoers would likely buy tickets for the next National Cinema Day based on the affordable pricing ability to see a specific movie they’ve been wanting to see, time with loved ones, being a fan of a particular movie franchise, and delightful activity for their weekend.
National Association of Theatre Owners President and CEO Michael O’Leary expressed the power of movies to bring people together to share in the joy, the thrill, the magic of storytelling told on the big screen, and National Cinema Day is a celebration of movie fandom and uniting the role that movie theaters play in communities.
This nonprofit would use data and collaboration to promote and expand the cinema industry, with the primary goal to ‘‘advance the moviegoing experience to develop a future of diverse workforces and moviegoing communities through research, education, and philanthropy,’’ expressed clearly on the National Cinema Day.org.
Following a second time from last summer’s National Cinema Day, this year on Sunday, Marlo Marketing Vice President said one final thing about the excitement around new films over the past year and this summer’s blockbusters such as Barbie and Oppenheimer.
“Maybe they’ve been on your list, but you haven’t had a chance to go yet, and this fun initiative is the perfect reason to head over to your local cinema,” said McCormick Blair. “National Cinema Day is a wonderful way to celebrate these great films and remind people about the magic of the movies, all while encouraging movie-going.”
