The Visiting Nurse Association is hosting its 26th annual art and soup event.The art and soup event raises funds to help VNA nurses provide public health nursing services to children, youth and adults in group maternity homes, domestic violence and homeless shelters.“For over 35 years, VNA has been the primary provider of public health nursing services in the Omaha metro area homeless shelters, delivering essential healthcare and support for more than a third of the community’s homeless population,” said Carole Patrick, VNA’s chief philanthropy officer.VNA’s Shelter Nursing services are completely funded by community philanthropic funds. These services are made possible through strong collaboration with the shelters and other community partnerships. “We are grateful that with the community’s support we have previously been able to expand this much-needed care to our local domestic violence shelters and now local group maternity homes,” said Patrick.Attendees can purchase a variety of art pieces from local artists while sampling soup from restaurants, including Biaggi’s, Big Mama’s Kitchen & Catering, No More Empty Pots, Ono Pinay Kitchen, Open Door Mission, Shucks, Slattery Vintage Estates, Stirnella and more VNA offers a wide range of community-based services to individuals of all ages and stages of life who lack resources across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area.The 26th Annual Art & Soup event will be taking place Sunday, April 16, at the Omaha Design Center from 2-5 p.m.
