GPS Hospitality — the third-largest Burger King franchisee — says scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors based on their grade point average and the impact the applicants have on their schools and communities through volunteerism and work experience.

This year’s recipients are Hillcrest High School’s Makenzie Jones and Alyssa Mack of Holy Spirit Catholic High School.

GPS Hospitality has supported 1,388 scholars since 2013, totaling nearly $1.4 million in giving.

“At GPS, we believe in investing in the future leaders of our communities, and these scholarships are a testament to our commitment,” GPS Hospitality President Michael Lippert said. “By supporting these bright individuals in their educational journeys, we aim to empower them to achieve their dreams and make a positive impact in the world.

GPS Hospitality says the Burger King Foundation Scholarship program is the Burger King Foundation’s flagship program, established to honor the legacy of the Burger King brand’s co-founder James W. McLamore and his commitment to philanthropy and education.
