A year is officially in the books for the Turlock Moms Club, a 503(c) nonprofit whose mission is to provide a supportive network for local moms and fun activities for children through events and community service.
On Sunday, the club celebrated their year of work and looked towards their second year with their annual Fall Festival. The event, which included children’s activities like gardening and face painting, offered an opportunity for community members to learn more about the club and their efforts.
In their first year, the club has organized self-care bags for mothers at the Turlock Pregnancy Center, adopted families last Christmas at the Turlock Gospel Mission, and held multiple cleanups at their adopted Bristol Park throughout the year. They have also organized social events like play dates and Moms’ Night Out events to support local businesses.
“As Turlock Moms Club moves into our second year, I’m excited to see the evolution of this group and its impact on local moms, but also our positive impact on local businesses,” said Vice President Erin Alves. “We strive to see moms and the community of Turlock thrive.”
The club’s next membership year begins Sunday.
“I’m excited the Turlock Moms Club is going into our second year. We’ve been able to do a lot for the community and local moms,” said President Alicia Turino-Sheppard. “As we grow we are looking forward to meeting new moms, building a stronger village and creating even more of a footprint on the community.”
