TruAmerica Multifamily’s Robert Hart Honored for Philanthropy

The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles honored the life and philanthropic legacy of Robert Hart, founder, CEO and president of TruAmerica Multifamily, at its Real Estate & Construction (REC) Network Dinner at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The REC Dinner is regarded as the premier gathering of real estate professionals in Los Angeles.  

Hart, who has built TruAmerica Iinto the 25th largest multifamily owner in the U.S., gives of himself —in time, talent, and treasure –to a wide variety of charitable organizations. He has raised tens of millions of dollars to better the lives of others in his community. He sits on the Board of Governors for City of Hope and is a member of the board of directors of Chrysalis.   

Hart also serves his alma maters as a member of the Board of Trustees at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and as a board member of UCLA’s Ziman Center for Real Estate. He is also on the board of trustees for the Marlborough School, a board member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, and a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Recognized for his professional and philanthropic contributions, he received the 2022 Outstanding Philanthropist Award presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Los Angeles Chapter, the 2017 City of Hope Spirit of Life Award, and the 2009 Humanitarian Leadership Award presented by the Alumni Association of WPI. 

Rabbi Noah Farkas, president & CEO of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, said, “Bob represents everything that is good about his profession and the Jewish community of Los Angeles. Bob is not just a titan and leader of his industry. He also understands deeply the importance of giving back and helping build community. We are blessed to be able to call him a friend. His impact on our Jewish community will be felt for generations to come.”
