The Ultra-Luxe Perfume Brand Bringing Together High End Fragrance And Philanthropy

Must Read

It’s not often that an ultra-luxe fragrance house is just as concerned with charitable giving as it is with the notes in their exclusive scents. In fact, we’re pretty sure it never happens. For most brands, the scent begins and ends with an expertly formulated juice and designer bottle. Then there’s Xerjoff.

Founded by Sergio Momo, Xerjoff aims to hit the fragrance sweet spot of the finest raw materials, expert craftmanship and artistic flair – everything a high end perfume aspires to encompass. But, where the Italian heritage perfume house starts to pull away from the rest of the perfume pack is its efforts to create a collaborative fragrance community that gives back.

More than just a side-note donation, Xerjoff creates scents that incorporate charities and foundations from beginning to end. ‘We decided to create an entire collection dedicated to working alongside specific movements, where the whole process of the perfume creation is done together alongside the organisations themselves,’ the brand shared with ELLE UK. ‘From the look and feel of the flacon to the actual perfume itself, each step of the creation is curated with the organiser of the movement and Sergio Momo.’

Currently, Xerjoff’s Spray To Help collection comprises of three perfumes: ‘Save Me’, a scent created with Queen’s Brian May, founder of the Save Me Trust, to help save British wildlife, ‘CoExistence’, created alongside The British Asian Trust and Elephant Family to aid projects in Asia and address local habitat changes, and ‘1986’, a perfume formulated with the Fondazione Candiolo to support the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research established in 1986, whose mission is to defeat cancer by establishing an oncology centre in Italy to provide patients with the best human and technological resources available today.

Expanding their philanthropy even further, in 2022, Xerjoff reimagined one of their existing scents ‘Accento Overdose’ in a Pride Edition which was released in support of LGBTQIA+ rights. ‘Xerjoff made significant donations to local charities, including Torino Pride, a group of associations that works in Piedmont committed to supporting important values and members of the LGBTQIA+ community,’ shared the brand.

The aim? To ultimately bring awareness to important movements through the medium of perfume. ‘It’s a challenge but also quite exhilarating trying to marry the two universes to produce something unique that becomes the talking point,’ Xerjoff told ELLE UK. Each perfume tells a story, which opens a space for questions to be asked and therefore awareness for the foundation is achieved.’
