The Golden Flashes Club announces staff promotion

KENT, Ohio- The Golden Flashes Club is happy to announce the promotion of Brian Grubich to Assistant Athletics Director, Director of Philanthropy.

“Brian Grubich is a true asset to the Golden Flashes Club team and with this new role he will continue to help us impact our student-athletes and our donors.”  Said Associate Athletics Director, Senior Director of Philanthropy Maggie McKendry. “Brian has proven himself a consummate philanthropic professional and we are excited to see the lasting impacts he will continue to help us make.”

In his new role Grubich will continue his work as a philanthropic advisor securing funds for the athletic department’s most immediate needs as well as enhancing the robust endowment program.

Grubich holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Marketing, as well as a Master of Arts in Sport and Recreation Management, both from Kent State University.

Grubich previously worked for Kent State from 2018-20 as assistant director for the Golden Flashes Club. He rejoined the university in August 2021 and served as director of the Golden Flashes Club before joining the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Grubich then served as Associate Director of Athletic Advancement where he worked to secure support from alumni, donors and friends of Kent State to ensure the success of our athletic programs and most importantly, our student athletes – both in competition and in the classroom.
