SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc., a private 501c3 non-profit organization, has appointed Susan DeSantis as its new Director of Development and Major Gifts as of Sept. 11.
In her new role, DeSantis will be responsible for spearheading a new major gift initiative and helping to grow the organization and its future endeavors. DeSantis brings a wealth of experience to SWFL Children’s Charities, having spent over 25 years in financial and resource development, most notably during her eight-year tenure at Florida SouthWestern State College.
“Susan’s dedication to philanthropy and exceptional tract record in Development, makes her a perfect addition to the team in helping to enhance pediatric healthcare in our region,” said Josh Dorcey, President of SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc.

DeSantis brings 25 years of experience in financial and resource development including a tenure at Florida SouthWestern State College where she played a pivotal role in securing funding and naming several crucial facilities and programs, including the Suncoast Arena floor, the FSW Cardiovascular Lab and Classroom, the Respiratory Lab and Classroom, and the Cybersecurity Program. DeSantis holds the distinguished Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation and has actively served in volunteer leadership roles with organizations like the Planned Giving Society of Lee County and the American Red Cross of Lee County, among others.
