Buddy Wilton and Shay Doll have received the 2023 Nancy Cord Vision of Philanthropy Award from St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation for the time and other resources they have invested in St. Luke’s Wood River and other organizations in the Wood River Valley.

The couple have established three endowments to support St. Luke’s Wood River employees. Their first endowment, named for retired urologist Pat McLaughlin and his wife Carol, has helped more than 90 St. Luke’s Wood River employees since its inception. Two additional endowments established an innovation fund for physicians and helped recognize the staff.

The couple has also helped children realize their dreams of ski racing and horse riding. And the two are big supporters of The Senior Connection and its new hearing and vision clinic.

“Buddy and Shay have contributed immensely to enhance the quality of life for others in the Wood River Valley through their incredible vision, commitment and generosity. We are thrilled to honor them with this prestigious award,” said Pete Smith, president of the St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation Board.

The award is named for Nancy Cord, a Sun Valley resident and Foundation emeritus council member for her unwavering commitment to the hospital and community.
