Silver Cross to Recognize DArcy Motors With Corporate Citizen Award

JOLIET, IL — The Silver Cross Foundation announced Tuesday that it will hold its Annual Charity Golf Classic presented by Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service on June 26, at Crystal Tree Golf and Country Club in Orland Park benefiting Silver Cross Hospital. To commemorate the fundraiser’s 32nd anniversary, Silver Cross will present D’Arcy Motors with the 2023 Silver Cross Corporate Citizen Award.

The award recognizes a local business that has demonstrated meaningful leadership through corporate social responsibility programs, philanthropy, and volunteerism in our community and at Silver Cross Hospital.

For more than 30 years, D’Arcy Motors has supported hundreds of local organizations in Joliet and the surrounding communities including youth sports, academics, churches and assisting with the elderly. D’Arcy donated two GMC vans to the Forest Park Community Center to help them better serve the Joliet northeast side and partnered with Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow to present the Spanish Community Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters with new vans to transport clients.

“D’Arcy Motors has been an ardent supporter of the Silver Cross Foundation supporting numerous fundraising events including the Silver Cross Charity Golf Classic as the Car Hole in One Sponsor for many years,” announced Craig Lyons, Silver Cross Foundation Board of Directors Chairman, in Tuesday’s press release.

In April, D’Arcy ran against two-term Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk and D’Arcy won the election in a lopsided fashion.

In addition, owner Terry D’Arcy has served on the Board of Trustees for Silver Cross Hospital since 2018 personally investing in the new structural heart surgical program and Will County’s first and only neonatal intensive care unit at Silver Cross Hospital. In 2013, he received the Silver Cross Sangmeister Medal of Excellence for his outstanding service to the community.

“Terry and his entire team at D’Arcy Motors exemplify the values of caring service to others that are the bedrock of our Silver Cross Hospital tradition,” said Ruth Colby, Silver Cross Hospital President and CEO.

Sponsorship opportunities, limited tee times and dinner tickets for the Silver Cross Charity Golf Classic are available by contacting the Silver Cross Foundation at (815) 300-7105 or visiting www.silvercross.org/giving/events by June 18.
