Synergos is a global nonprofit organization solving deeply
entrenched societal problems of poverty, social injustice, and
climate change around the world. We seek a Philanthropy Partner,
North America (East Coast) to provide active and consistent
relationship management to members of our Global Philanthropists
Circle (GPC) network. Reporting directly to the Managing Director,
Philanthropy, you will be responsible for building relationships,
delivering a highly relevant and engaged member experience,
cultivation of new members and program delivery. Member activities
and initiatives include but are not limited to digital and
in-person events, workshops and other major program deliverables.
As part of a global matrix team, you will contribute to the success
of the Philanthropy team as we launch our new organizational
strategy and also gain valuable experience engaging with our
growing membership.

The ideal candidate for this role can work independently and
collaborate readily as part of a diverse, international team. You
are a critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced work environment
and are comfortable with ambiguity, can pivot, work in an agile way
and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, while
maintaining strong attention to detail and an overall commitment to
excellence. The position requires an entrepreneurial spirit and
ability to recognize opportunities to further the organization’s
mission.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management and Member Cultivation

  • Work closely with GPC members and other stakeholders on
    associated activities including digital and in-person meetings,
    trips, workshops, events, and other engagement opportunities
  • Manage and serve as primary relationship manager for approx. 20
    GPC member families
  • With team support, engage and recruit North American
    philanthropists and social investors to become GPC members

Program Delivery and Facilitation

  • Work closely with Synergos colleagues on programs that advance
    the Synergos mission, building the GPC community
  • Collaborate with the global team, implement and facilitate
    relevant digital and in-person programs for members with a specific
    focus on North America
  • Build visibility for Synergos and the GPC, representing the
    network at external philanthropy meetings and cultivating
    relationships

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience preferably in
    philanthropy or related social impact work
  • Experience in the field of philanthropy with a strong
    understanding and perspective on current opportunities and
    challenges in the field
  • Strong experience in in-depth relationship cultivation and
    management
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating programs and/or workshops
    with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong ability to collaborate, partner and work with various
    stakeholders from varied backgrounds
  • Comfort working in a global organization with remote team
    members
  • Responsive in communication, quick to action, deadline-oriented
    and entrepreneurial
  • Self-driven and accountable with excellent written and verbal
    communication skills
  • Attentive to detail and unafraid to take on all tasks, big and
    small
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion values
    and practices
  • Ability to learn and use new and multiple technology platforms
    (such as Teams, Monday.com)
  • The highest standards of ethics, integrity, and values
    consistent with those of Synergos

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel possible but not
guaranteed

Compensation

$70K-$80K plus benefits depending on experience and geographic
location.
