Pamlico County Community Foundation awards more than $2,000 in grants | News

The Pamlico County Community Foundation has awarded $2,450 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

$950 to Pamlico County Fishes & Loaves Outreach for feeding the community in need

$500 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina — Pamlico County

$1,000 to Voices Together for VOICSS in Education — Pamlico County Schools

Funds for the grants came from PCCF’s community grantmaking fund.

“We’re happy to provide support to these nonprofits,” said Heather Brewer, advisory board president of the Pamlico County Community Foundation. “They do valuable work in our community.”

PCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, PCCF uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.

Pamlico County Community Foundation Advisory Board Members

Advisory board members live and work in Pamlico County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities. In addition to Brewer, board members include Tim Buck (secretary/treasurer), Joy Baker, Sally Belangia, Elizabeth Cordes, Leslie Kellenberger, Todd McFadden, Flora Moorman, Sam Myers and Marsha Paplham.
