She said the need is great.“Only $0.23 out of every $100 goes to support the LGBTQ community across the country,” Meyers said.Leung said the foundation aims to raise at least $7,500 in funding for local LGBTQ+ groups every year. While both are excited for this launch, they still believe there is still work to be done.“Members of our community do not have that across the country,” Meyers said. “And it’s important to keep raising awareness.”Leung believes “it’s more important now than ever at this time to be working to create safe spaces and stable resources for our community.”The Pride Circle event will take place in Old Town on 2043 S. Plaza St. from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, June 30.
