Christian Horizons names president, CEO

Christian Horizons recently named Kate Bertram as president and CEO.

Bertram joined Christian Horizons in March of last year as chief operations officer (COO), and brings over 20 years of senior living experience to her new role. Bertram will provide strategic oversight and vision in her new role, having helped the company navigate through the challenging years of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are confident that her experience, character, and leadership will usher in a bright future for Christian Horizons,” said Nicolas Filing, chairman, Christian Horizons board of directors.

Brookdale names VP of clinical services

Brookdale Senior LIving (NYSE: BKD) recently welcomed Whitney Lane as the vice president of clinical services for the company’s West Division, according to a LinkedIn post.

Prior to rejoining Brookdale, Lane worked for Anthem Memory Care, Watercrest Senior Living, Senior Lifestyle and Emeritus. She previously worked for Brookdale until 2015 as district director of clinical services and as a regional director of operations for personalized living, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Retirement Unlimited makes various hires, promotions

Retirement Unlimited Inc. promoted Michele Thompson to chief operations officer (COO) and Amanda Brooks, Jamie Houston and Jennifer Mohler were hired as vice presidents of operations.

The company continues to grow as it has taken on six communities since the beginning of the year with three in development.

The Bristal promotes regional VP

The Bristal Assisted Living recently promoted Faraz Kayani to regional vice president of operations.

He has worked at The Bristal for over 13 years across various communities. In his new role, he will oversee the leadership teams oat the company’s communities.

Springpoint names VP of HR and compliance officer, chief philanthropist

Springpoint recently announced Sandi Ko as the new vice president of human resources and compliance officer.

Ko served as the director of corporate compliance and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for Springpoint since 2014. In her new role, Ko is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the human resources and compliance functions to support Springpoint’s workforce and regulatory requirements.

Springpoint also named Michael Oakes as chief philanthropy officer of the Springpoint Foundation. Oakes joined Springpoint in 2014, and he previously served as chief operating officer/vice president of development at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey.

Erickson Senior Living names executive directors

Erickson Senior Living recently named Will Nance as the first executive director of Woodleigh Chase and Tom Channon as executive director for the Ashby Ponds community.

Nance will oversee management and operations of the community that’s located on a 46-acre campus in Fairfax,

Virginia which is set to open in early next year.

He joined Erickson in 1998, and most recently was the executive director for Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, Virginia.

Channon joined Erickson in 1998 as senior facilities manager at Greenspring before working his way up to associate executive director in 2017.

LeadingAge New Jersey & Delaware names new member

Elizabeth Fandel, chief marketing and innovation officer at FellowshipLIFE was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees for LeadingAge New Jersey & Delaware.

In her role, she will use her experience to promote quality stewardship and choice in aging services.

Kendal Corp. appoints director of procurement

The Kendal Corporation announced Daniel Rock was appointed as director of procurement.

In the role, he will develop and implement a strategic business plan to support Kendal affiliates’ group purchasing nationwide. He previously served as purchasing director of Hodell-Natco Industries.

Anthem Memory Care names ED

Anthem Memory Care recently named Emily Potempa as executive director for Churchill Place, an community in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Potempa previously was executive director with Encore Memory Care in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She also served as director of resident services for Brookdale Senior Living in Lisle, Illinois. She brings over 12 years of senior living experience to this position.

South Bay at Mt. Pleasant names campus director

South Bay at Mt. Pleasant recently named Joseph Carr as campus director.

In his role, he also serves as the administrator for the Shem Creek Health Center that is attached to the community.

Jackson Creek Senior Living, a WellAge Senior Living-managed community, named Adam Salser as executive director.

In this role, he will oversee Jackson Creek’s daily operations, customer satisfaction, and leadership in resident care, staff development and regulatory compliance.
