Marta Lejkowski | The Nature Conservancy

As Director of Philanthropy for Europe at The Nature Conservancy, Marta is responsible for developing strategic relationships between the organisation and major philanthropists. Leading a team of fundraisers in London and Berlin, she engages philanthropists with TNC’s work around the globe, and is personally dedicated to raising awareness of the environment across the philanthropic sector and its power to bring about global change.

Marta has significant experience in international philanthropy from working in Europe, the United States and Asia and she is passionate about the environment and conservation.

Before joining TNC, Marta was an Associate Director at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where she led its Asian fundraising programme and raised funding for Kew’s international plant science and conservation projects. Her career in fundraising for the environment began in 1999 at the World Resources Institute, a major policy and research organisation based in Washington, DC. Marta has also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in London as a trainee accountant.
Marta has a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from the Central European University in Hungary; a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropic Studies from Kent University; and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Development from McGill University in Canada.
