Khurelsukh Ukhnaa calls UN crucial partner of Mongolia
AKIPRESS.COM – President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited the UN Office on the occasion of the United Nations Day on October 24.
“We greatly value the United Nations as a crucial partner, offering comprehensive support for Mongolia’s socio-economic development, environmental protection, and the promotion of democracy and good governance. Mongolia fully supports the UN Secretary-General’s reform policy and is willing to expand our relations and cooperation with the United Nations,” the President said.
The United Nations’ global impact extends to Mongolia, where it plays a vital role in advancing the nation’s development priorities set in Vision 2050 and New Recovery Policy as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ever since its accession to United Nations in 1961.
The President expressed confidence that the successful implementation of One Billion Trees, Food and Security and Healthy Mongolia campaigns will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to the implementation of global efforts, and congratulated the UN Office team and wished them success in work.
“I am deeply humbled and honored, proud and privileged that President Khurelsukh joined our UN family on this special day. This is a strong indicator of the nation’s commitment towards achieving the SDGs and the importance it places on the mission and mandates of the UN.
