“The exhibition showcases good practices that the ministry, the Bappenas (National Development Planning Agency), and the Nusantara National Capital Authority have created,” Head of the ministry’s Data and Information Centre Theresia Junidar stated.
According to the statement here on Friday, Junidar highlighted that only 11 countries, including Indonesia, are selected to showcase their good practices at the UN’s 2023 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development taking place on July 10-20, 2023.
She said the ministry is advocating SDGs localization to the village level that is implemented through the mainstreaming of Village SDGs as the policy direction for village development until 2030.
“The policy direction is supported by the Village Fund disbursed to all villages. In 2023, the Village Fund’s total value is Rp70 trillion (US$4.69 billion),” the official stated.
Improvements to the SDGs indicators’ score proved that the localization of SDGs to the village level benefits the village, she noted.
Junidar said that Indonesia recorded a 99.45-percent household electricity rate. Meanwhile, access to clean drinking water has reached 99.78 percent.
The main display at the exhibition showed that Indonesia has a 270-million population scattered across 38 provinces, 514 cities and districts, and 75,265 villages.
Exotic natural wonders and tourism destinations, such as Lake Toba, Borobudur, Bali, and Labuan Bajo, are also exhibited at the event.
Meanwhile, Bappenas showcased their SDGs indicator metadata preparedness, SDGs implementation guides, and roadmap of SDGs achievement.
The exhibition also informed that 195 companies are actively implementing SDGs, while the SDGs Centre has been established at 39 universities nationwide.
The Nusantara National Capital Authority also showcased its advocacy on SDGs-based regional development planning on the exhibition.
