Ellen Sax
TROY, N.Y. — The Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) Foundation recently named Ellen Sax, MVP Health Care’s Vice President for Community Engagement, as its 2023 recipient of the Outstanding Philanthropist Award.
Sax received the award during the college’s annual Leadership Donor Reception. It is presented annually to an individual, couple, organization, or family foundation that shows exemplary leadership through charitable giving to HVCC. Recipients of the award promote the mission, vision, and values of a community college education by using philanthropy to facilitate access, opportunity, and student success.
MVP has a long history of philanthropy to HVCC.
The company has been a partner to the college since 1996, and has continued to expand its contributions under Sax’s leadership. Most recently, it established the MVP Community and Public Health Scholarship for HVCC students. Sax and MVP have also been steadfast supporters of the college’s annual Gala, the annual U.W. Marx Golf Classic, and other scholarships and initiatives designed to help HVCC students succeed.
“The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation is thrilled to honor Ellen Sax with the 2023 Outstanding Philanthropist Award,” said Hudson Valley Community College President Roger Ramsammy in a news release. “Ellen is a respected leader in our community and has made it her personal mission to uphold MVP Health Care’s pledge to support the health and wellbeing of our entire community, including Hudson Valley Community College and our students.
“It is our pleasure to recognize her efforts with this award.”
