An advocate for good corporate citizenship and giving back locally, GOLO, the Delaware-based health and wellness solutions company, makes supporting the community a corporate priority.
“We have always believed that operating a successful business also means being an active and committed member of our local community,” says Jennifer Brooks, President and Co-founder of GOLO.
As part of this commitment, the company has invested in several important partnerships with local charitable groups and non-profits across the state.
GOLO and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware (RMHCGDE) serves families with seriously ill children by enabling access to medical care and providing a place that offers comfort, hope, and togetherness. RMHCGDE’s programs provide for families of children receiving treatment at area hospitals by providing a “home-away-from-home” at its 50-bedroom Ronald McDonald House and through the hospitality at two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. GOLO is a proud supporter of RMHCGDE and its role in providing for families with seriously ill or injured children.
“We are grateful for the philanthropic spirit of our community partners like GOLO. These partners allow us to fulfill our mission to families who travel far distances to receive medical treatments in Wilmington, allowing them to experience all the comforts of home, including accommodations, nutritious meals, and a supportive environment,” says Pamela W. Cornforth, President and CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware. “Our families can then focus on what matters most – the well-being of their child.”
GOLO and Special Olympics Delaware
The mission of Special Olympics Delaware is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 4,200 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in sharing gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. GOLO is a longtime supporter of the vital role that Special Olympics Delaware plays in the local community.
“GOLO has been a strong advocate of our Summer Games and sponsor of our Healthy Athlete station for many years,” says David Halley, President and CEO, Special Olympics of Delaware. “Their support provides free health education, activities, and screenings for over 500 athletes. We could not offer these free programs without their involvement and support. It truly is life-changing!”
GOLO and The Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC)
Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) exists solely to “serve those who served” this great nation, our Veterans. The organization is dedicated to advancing the cause of Veterans, advocating on all levels, giving voice to their concerns, bringing equity and quality to their earned benefits, and a just resolve to their needs. GOLO has long admired the organization’s commitment to veterans and their families.
“It is only with the support of companies like GOLO that we’re able to offer transformational services for Veteran families in the local community,” says Joe Brooks, Executive Director of Veterans Multi-Service Center. “GOLO is truly a leader on this front, and we hope others follow.”
