Semper Fi/America’s Fund and San Dieguito River Park have a bonus of community funding, thanks to the support of local runners in the annual 5k/3k beach run/walk.

The 2023 Red Nose Run was presented by the Del Mar Foundation. The total donation to the two charities was $26,000, according to a news release.

“2023 was a record-breaking event for TRNR, with the most participation in our 31-year history. Our total donations throughout the event have surpassed $400,000, and we are racing to get that number to $500,000 in the next two years. All of this has been made possible through the hard work of our Volunteers and support from our partners like the Del Mar Foundation,” said race director Anthony Valentino in the news release.

Every year, the Poseidon Restaurant on the Beach serves the community with a meal for the runners/walkers who participated in this event. “This, our 31st year, is one way we give back to the community. We support both charities,” said the Poseidon’s Tom Ranglas, Jr, who wants to focus resources on the local priorities and serving others, in the news release.

Semper Fi/America’s Fund: Donations fund services like mental health, prosthetics, and special services. San Dieguito River Park: When completed, the coast-to-crest trail will be 72 miles long.
The 2024 event will be on Dec. 14,.

The Red Nose Run is a 501c3 that supports the local community with an annual 5k/3k on the beach in Del Mar.
