The Craven County Community Foundation has awarded $227,490 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

$6,515 to Abundant Life Community Services, Inc. for family crisis intervention

$5,000 to Sound Rivers, Inc. for Craven County Schools: Restoration and Education

$4,800 to Tried By Fire, Inc. for My Sister’s House: safe shelter for post-incarcerated women

$6,000 to Vanceboro Christian Help Center for general operating support

$2,500 to Voices Together for VOICSS in Education — Craven County Schools

Funds for the grants came from CCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the Richard Chapman Cleve Fund, the Daugherty Family Fund, the Brian Fisher Endowment, the Harry and Virginia Killian Charitable Endowment, and the Nelson Family Memorial Endowment Fund.

“We’re happy to support these local organizations,” said Peter Moeller, advisory board president of the Craven County Community Foundation. “By working together, we can make our community stronger and more supportive.”

CCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, CCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.
