On Wednesday, Mayor Brandon Johnson announced that Jackie Rosa will serve as the City of Chicago’s Chief Philanthropy Officer.  “I look forward to working with Jackie Rosa to strengthen Chicago’s ties with the philanthropic community and build vital partnerships to invest in residents,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “It’s an honor to serve the City of Chicago in this capacity and I will bring my passion for multi-sector collaboration and investment to impact our city’s most pressing issues,” said Jackie Rosa. “Critical to this work is engaging community in order to make meaningful developments that reflect our priorities.” Rosa is a lifelong Chicagoan with nearly two decades of experience in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors. She brings a breadth of experience, including equitable grantmaking, place-based investment, and community and civic engagement. At United Way of Metro Chicago, Rosa led philanthropic investments in 18 communities across the city’s South and West sides, including suburban Cook County. She mobilized the corporate and philanthropic sector, nonprofits, small businesses, and community leaders around common community goals to build a stronger region.  Rosa was the recipient of the 2016 Hispanics in Philanthropy Next Generation Fellowship and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from DePaul University.
