The Fidelity Charitable Trustees’ Initiative (FCTI) builds bridges between nonprofits and donors so that the nonprofits strengthening their communities have access to the resources they need to flourish. FCTI awards grants to supporting organizations, such as the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, that inspire donors, strengthen nonprofits, and amplify research and data on giving. As part of their support for the Lilly Family School, they will support select nonprofit leaders who are addressing a pressing need in their community but lack access to professional development opportunities that will help their organization scale in a meaningful way.
The Certificate in Fund Raising Management Scholarship supported by the Fidelity Charitable Trustees’ Initiative will award 15 scholarships for the Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) plus $1,500 grants to small to mid-size organizations located in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, or Texas. The goal is to offer fundraising training so nonprofit leaders have the latest research-based fundraising tools to support their organization’s resilience and sustainability. The outcome of gaining this knowledge is that the participants will be better equipped to engage donors who can provide support to improve their community’s well-being.
For almost 50 years, The Fund Raising School (TFRS) has been at the forefront of helping thousands with fundraising. The Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) recognizes and substantiates a commitment to fundraising leadership. To earn the CFRM, scholarship recipients will complete four courses: Principles & Techniques of Fundraising, and three of the following courses: Developing Major Gifts, Developing Annual Sustainability, Managing the Capital Campaign, or Planned Giving: Getting the Proper Start. TFRS will provide virtual, asynchronous instruction to ensure flexibility for participants to complete the courses on their own time. In addition, TFRS faculty will host a live Zoom discussion following each course for scholarship recipients to ask questions, network with each other, and discuss how they are applying the skills learned in their respective organizations.
Support from FCTI will cover 95% of the CFRM cost, and participants will pay a $300 registration fee. In addition to the CFRM courses, each program participant’s organization will receive a $1,500 grant to support general expenses upon successful completion of the CFRM and end-of-program evaluation.
