SYDNEY, N.S. — Four individuals and groups will be inducted into the Cape Breton Business and Philanthropy Hall of Fame during a gala at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre on June 14.
The gala event recognizes Cape Breton’s most respected business leaders and philanthropists.
“We are thrilled to recognize these outstanding individuals and groups for their contributions to the Cape Breton community,” said Cape Breton Chamber of Commerce CEO Jenna Lahey.
“Their commitment to excellence in business and philanthropy serves as an inspiration to all of us.”
Eileen Pottie Forrester, the founder of the Forrester School of Dance, and Bruce Marsh, the former owner of Cape Breton Trailer Sales, will be inducted into the business hall of fame.
Jim Kehoe and Roma Kehoe, the owners of the Joneljim Group of Companies, will be inducted into the philanthropy hall of fame.
The Cape Breton Building Trades and Unionized Contractors will receive the Philanthropy Leadership Award.
Nominees were submitted by both the public and business community in February and March of 2023.
The gala will create student awards for those continuing their program of studies in the Shannon School of Business at Cape Breton University.
