Richard Tate, executive vice president, will be promoted to president and CEO of the $1 billion foundation on September 1.
He will succeed Judy Belk, who will stay on as a senior adviser through the end of the year.
Arcus Foundation
Dani Martinez will become U.S. social-justice program director at the $265 million foundation in July. Currently she works at Borealis Philanthropy, where she co-created and served as director of its Emerging LGBTQ Leaders of Color Fund.

Greater Cincinnati Foundation
Matthew Randazzo will be the next president and CEO of the $975 million grant maker, starting July 17. He is currently president and CEO of the Dallas Foundation.
Randazzo will succeed Ellen Katz, who has led the community fund in Ohio since 2015.
Cleveland Foundation
Lillian Kuri will be promoted from executive vice president and chief operating officer to president and CEO, starting August 1.
She will replace Ronn Richard, who will retire after 20 years there.

National Gallery of Art
Laura Lott, president and CEO of the American Alliance of Museums, will become administrator of the museum on July 3.
She will succeed Sheila McDaniel, who has held the role since 2020.

Pamela Nadler Emmerich, a lawyer and member of the Board of Directors of the American Friends of the Hebrew University since 2009, will be the fundraising group’s next president.
Ben Hartley, executive director of the National Arts Club, has been tapped as executive director of Silkroad, the performing-arts organization created by the famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Hartley follows Kathy Fletcher, who stepped down in December to lead Wellfleet Preservation Hall.
Arturo Jacobus, who retired in 2021 as president and CEO of the Atlanta Ballet, has returned to the San Francisco Ballet as interim executive director. He was previously its executive director from 1993 to 2002.
Robyn Mazur will be the next executive director of the Joyful Heart Foundation. Most recently she was senior director of national training and technical assistance at the Center for Justice Innovation.
Isaiah Oliver, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, will join the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida as its president, effective July 31. He will follow Nina Waters, who will retire on September 1 after 22 years with the $537 million foundation in Jacksonville.
Terry Quigley, chief operating officer for Episcopal Communities and Services in Southern California, has been named president and CEO of Masonic Homes of California. Gary Charland, who has led the organization for California seniors and communities for a decade, will now retire.
Amy Spitalnick, executive director of Integrity First for America, will now serve as CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.
Noelle Trent, director of interpretation, collections, and education at the National Civil Rights Museum, has been hired as president and CEO of the Museum of African American History in Boston and Nantucket.
New Hires at Grant Makers
Noël Bakhtian, inaugural executive director of the Berkeley Lab Energy Storage Center at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, has been named director of tech acceleration at the Bezos Earth Fund. In addition, Paul Bodnar has joined the $10 billion grant maker as director of sustainable finance, industry, and diplomacy. Most recently, he was BlackRock’s global head of sustainable investing and head of sustainability policy.
Blair Beasley, director of climate strategies at the Ray C. Anderson Foundation, has been named managing director for the environment at the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
Mary Grecco, chief financial officer and vice president of operations at the Overbrook Foundation, has been appointed vice president of finance and administration at the Foundation for Child Development.
M. Scott Knox has joined the Boston Foundation as director of its Equality Fund, which makes grants to strengthen LGBTQ+ people and their families in Massachusetts. Most recently he was executive director of Root, a nonprofit group in Salem, Mass., that trains young people for culinary jobs.
Yolanda Houston, an instructor in adult basic education at Holmes Community College, has joined the Woodward Hines Education Foundation as director of its Mississippi Consortium for Higher Education in Prison program.
Kevin Ring, president of Families Against Mandatory Minimums, will join Arnold Ventures as its vice president of criminal-justice advocacy on July 10.

Shukurat Adamoh-Faniyan, executive director of Reading Partners DC, has been appointed chief of campus experience at the Jeremiah Program.
Diana Beinart, deputy commissioner and general counsel at the New York City Department of Finance, is now general counsel at the Girl Scouts of the USA.
Christine Brabender has been hired as vice president of development at the Museum of Latin American Art. Most recently she was director of development at the University of Waikato, in New Zealand.
Rachel Denny, director of development at the Sundance Institute, has been appointed director of advancement at United States Artists.
Shripad Desai has been promoted to deputy senior vice president and country team liaison at Americares. Most recently he was senior director of Americares’ Asia and Eurasia programs.
Mollie Alexander Hogan, director of development at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, has been appointed chief development officer at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. In addition, Wes Moran has joined the museum as chief financial officer. Previously he was vice president of finance at the Shedd Aquarium.
Ishan Johnson, associate director of philanthropy at the Art Institute of Chicago, is now deputy chief philanthropy officer at the Boston Lyric Opera. In addition, Yong-Hee Silver has joined the performing-arts group as chief philanthropy officer. She was previously senior major-gifts officer at the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Yvette McClymont, territorial director of major gifts at the Salvation Army’s Central Territory, has become vice president of national philanthropy at Cradles to Crayons. In addition, Connie Olson has joined the charity as vice president of operations. Most recently she served as head of North America supply-chain transformation and customer collaboration at the health-products company Philips.
Zainab Okolo, strategy officer at the Lumina Foundation, has been named senior vice president of policy, advocacy, and government relations at the Jed Foundation, a charity that supports mental health and suicide prevention for young people through partnerships with high schools and colleges.
Desiree Pipkins has been named chief impact officer at FHI 360, a global organization that works to advance social and economic equity, health and well-being, and community resilience. Previously she was interim deputy chief operating officer and chief of staff at Mercy Corps.
Danielle St. Germain, executive director of the San Francisco Ballet, will join the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco as chief philanthropy officer next month.
Amy Seusing, senior director of corporate and foundation relations at the Obama Foundation, will be the first chief development officer at Jobs for the Future.
Karen Toering has been promoted from Seattle program director to director of advocacy at Magic Cabinet.
Departures
Naila Bolus, CEO of Jumpstart for Young Children for 12 years, intends to leave her position at the end of 2023.
Melanca Clark plans to depart as president and CEO of the Hudson-Webber Foundation, pending the selection of a successor. She has led the $224 million foundation since 2016.
Christopher (Kim) Elliman will retire after more than 30 years as president and CEO of the Open Space Institute in March 2024.
H. Keith Spears, chancellor of university system advancement at Campbellsville University for 14 years, is retiring on July 1.
Elise Westhoff is stepping down after three years as president and CEO of the Philanthropy Roundtable. Legacy
Laura Pels, president of the Laura Pels International Foundation for Theatre, has died at the age of 92. Her second husband, Donald Pels, was president and executive of Lin Broadcasting and an early investor in cellular communications. After the couple split in 1993, she used her divorce settlement to create her foundation, through which she donated millions to performing-arts groups.
