CACF receives national recognition from Community Foundations National Standards | News

The Cadillac Area Community Foundation received national recognition for its legal, ethical and effective practices.

The recognition came in the form of accreditation from the Community Foundations National Standards, which is a program created by community foundations for community foundations. They are peer-driven, voluntary, and self-regulatory. National Standards accreditation represents operational effectiveness to foster excellence in community philanthropy.

Community Foundations National Standards Board Chairwoman Susie Nelson said to reach the accreditation benchmarks is a rigorous, comprehensive process. It also is a significant accomplishment that indicates the CACF demonstrates a commitment to transparency, quality, integrity and accountability.

CACF Executive Director Doreen Lanc said the accreditation represents best practices that exceed federal and state laws requirements. She also said it It is the CACF’s way to tell its donors they are committed to accountability and excellence to the community.

“Through philanthropic services, strategic investments and community leadership, the Cadillac Area Community Foundation helps individuals support the causes they care about, and we are dedicated to improve the quality of life for all who live in the area, now and for generations to come,” Lanc said.
