TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Public Library has announced the hire of Ann Beegle as Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to oversee the fundraising strategy for Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library. The nonprofit provides resources to help support library initiatives, including digital equity, Summer Reading Challenge, bookmobiles, Storyville, building improvements and more.
In her new role, Beegle will establish a fundraising plan that supports the library’s short and long-term goals, including capital initiatives, grants and end-of-year giving. The Towson resident becomes a key member of the Library Leadership Team, working to elevate the system’s strategic plan of creating a 21st century library experience for customers.
“I love that the library is able to meet people where they are with their needs, whether it is a young mother and child engaging with Storyville, a senior getting help filling out tax forms or a group of teens hanging out in one of our gaming rooms after school,” said Beegle. “I look forward to meeting with the Foundation’s donors — people who share what I value about the library and want to help ensure it continues to grow and thrive.”
Beegle brings three decades of experience in fundraising and development to the library, including raising money for The Walters Art Museum and the Baltimore Community Foundation. She was also the Executive Director for the Star-Spangled 220, Inc., where she oversaw the planning, fundraising and production of a multi-year commemoration of the War of 1812 and the 200th anniversary of the national anthem.
“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ann as the new Philanthropy and Partnerships Director, bringing with her 30 years of experience and a proven track record in philanthropic endeavors. Through fundraising and strategic collaboration with key partners, Baltimore County Public Library will be able to amplify its impact on Baltimore County residents,” said CEO Sonia Alcántara-Antoine.
