The Heritage Foundation’s prestigious award will enable this young organization to hold policymakers accountable in an election year.
The American Accountability Foundation, a leading government watchdog group, has been awarded $100,000 from the 2024 Heritage Innovation Prizes for their groundbreaking work to identify and expose radical political activists embedded in the federal government.
AAF’s winning project aims to root out activists who have been placed in key positions in agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice by the Biden administration. These politicized bureaucrats, unelected by the people and accountable to the people, would work to dismantle the elected agenda to secure the border and reduce crime.
Consider the Southern Border Wall, a key piece of President Trump’s agenda in 2018, which was dismantled from within. With the support of the Innovation Prize, AAF will avoid a repeat of recent American history for the incoming administration.
“We are thrilled and honored to receive the Heritage Innovation Prize,” said Tom Jones, President of AAF. “This award is a testament to the importance of our work in defending American values and institutions from those who seek to undermine them from within.”
With the $100,000 prize, AAF plans to significantly expand the scope of their investigation. The funds will allow them to identify an estimated 200 bad actors burrowed into the layers of the administrative state; focus on immigration staff at the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice; publish their findings in a dedicated website with search functionality; and deploy a media campaign to amplify public support.
While there are many organizations that focus on identifying and preparing the right people to fill these seats, AAF is the only organization focused on the getting the wrong people out.
“The threat posed by these embedded agents cannot be overstated,” Jones explained. “If left unchecked, they will work tirelessly to entrench their radical agenda and subvert the policies of any future conservative administration. We must expose them now, before it’s too late.”
The Innovation Prize, sponsored by the Heritage Foundation, is a prestigious and highly competitive award that supports innovative projects, bold strategies, and creative policy solutions that build an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish. In 2024, nine results-oriented winners will enjoy their generous piece of the $1 million pie.
The Innovation Prize is intended to spark creative disruption within the conservative movement, particularly in these key areas: empowering parents to make education choices, securing America’s borders and reducing crime, ensuring free and fair elections, reducing the growth of spending and inflation, countering the threat of the Chinese Communist Party, holding Big Tech accountable, protecting unborn life and family formation, and promoting leadership development and preparing for 2025.
Founded in 2021, the American Accountability Foundation is a young organization that has already achieved over 50 decisive wins for freedom by changing the debate on dozens of nominees, empowering research into election-rigging, and holding policymakers accountable.
Notably, AAF became the target of an IRS audit in 2023, which has raised concerns that the investigation is politically motivated. The IRS investigation came shortly after AAF made public a 176-page email correspondence by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) pressuring contacts at the DOJ and IRS to audit conservative organizations, explicitly naming AAF. On AAF’s behalf, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) co-signed an open letter to the IRS commissioner.
With the support of the Heritage Innovation Prize and their dedicated donors, AAF is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the de-infiltration of our federal government in a critical election year.
