Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Alpine Bank is honoring the role its customers and community partners have played in its success by launching the 50 Years of Philanthropy campaign.
As part of the initiative, all 853 employees of the bank directed a one-time charitable gift of $500 to support eligible Colorado non-profit organizations, resulting in a total donation of $426,500.
Alpine Bank’s President and Vice Chairman Glen Jammaron reflected on the bank’s dedication to the community.
“What drives our success is our commitment to the community,” Jammaron said. “This donation is not just a gift. iIt’s a message of gratitude and a promise to continue supporting the people and organizations that make Colorado thrive.”
Founded in 1973, Alpine Bank is an independent, employee-owned organization with over $6.5 billion in assets. With headquarters in Glenwood Springs and banking offices throughout Colorado, the bank serves over 160,000 customers with various services.
Through its innovative Loyalty Debit Card program, Alpine Bank supported over 700 Colorado nonprofits and organizations in 2021 with $1.82 million in grants, sponsorships, and gifts. The debit card program is expected to reach $2.5 million in 2023, a driving factor that made the philanthropy campaign possible. With every customer transaction on an Alpine Bank Loyalty Debit Card, the bank donates 10 cents to support nonprofits and charities in the categories of arts, environment, education, community and more.
With a total of 361 organizations benefiting from the campaign, The Children’s Hospital received the most donations from Alpine employees. Jammaron said the bank will continue their efforts to support organizations throughout the community.
“We’ll continue to try to do what we have done for the past 50 years to support local communities and non-profits,” Jammaron said. “We are always looking for ways to support our communities and involve our employees along the way.”
The gifts for the anniversary campaign were awarded on Colorado Day, the state’s 147th birthday. Some organizations received larger gifts after being selected by more than one employee. All selected organizations will receive a letter detailing the donation, along with the total amount awarded.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis acknowledged the bank’s community involvement, naming Aug. 1 as “Alpine Bank Day.”
