Christine Colautti will begin her new role on June 27 following a local and national search for the critical position, said CKHAF in a media release.
She is replacing Mary Lou Crowley who is stepping down for a leadership role at the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital Foundation.
“Christine is a dynamic and visionary leader who is very civic-minded and demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to health-care philanthropy,” said CKHAF board chair Bob Hockney.
He added Colautti will lead the foundation’s current $8.9 million campaign, Our Hospital, Our Future, for the Wallaceburg site redevelopment project.
Colautti joins CKHAF from Erie Shores Health Foundation (ESHF), where she has served as CEO since 2018. Working in health care for more than 23 years and the philanthropic sector for 17 years, Colautti has held leadership roles in hospital foundations, leading and supporting teams that have raised millions of dollars for excellence in local healthcare, the CKHAF said.

During her tenure at ESHF, Colautti exceeded revenue expectations, elevated the brand of the foundation to new levels in the community, and established a new operational framework that diversified programming and safeguarded the foundation against the challenges presented by the pandemic, the CKHAF said. Colautti also led the way in generating record revenue for the foundation through signature events and annual giving initiatives.
Colautti has a passion for helping people and making communities thrive, the CKHAF said. She has extensive skills and experience in fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, developing stakeholder and donor relationships, and non-profit governance.
“I’m thrilled to take on the role of president and CEO of CKHAF, leading an organization that is so important to the community and its hospital,” said Colautti said in the release. “There is no greater calling than supporting local health care. I look forward to working with the staff, board, hospital colleagues, and the incredible community of Chatham-Kent.”
