Stacy Cartechine: I am excited and honored to have been chosen to lead the organization
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Stacy Cartechine was named the new Executive Director of the Brevard Heart Foundatio and said she is excited and honored to have been chosen to lead the organization in its mission to improve and promote healthcare for Brevard County citizens.
Cartechine has a deep understanding of the importance of heart health. In December 2021, she lost her only son Alexander to sudden cardiac death at age 21.
Since his passing, Cartechine has dedicated herself to raising awareness of undetected heart conditions in young people, such as the one that took Alex.
Cartechine’s start in the nonprofit sector dates back to her teen years when she served as a volunteer at Boca Raton Community Hospital as a candy striper and continues today in her current role as the Heart Screening Director for the Brevard-based nonprofit Who We Play For, where she leads a team that provides heart screenings to youth ages 10 and up, directs school and community screenings, organizes fundraising events, and coordinates educational videos.
Throughout her 20 years as a military spouse and raising three children, Cartechine was actively involved with serving communities across the country in a variety of ways and received awards such as the U.S. Air Force Association Spouse of the Year for her community involvement and the Kathleen L. Landis Volunteer of the Year Award. She has also traveled internationally with the community service-based group Up with People.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Cartechine is a band manager and lead singer for the well-known Brevard County band Cover Story.
Singing for most of her life, you may have also seen her performing in the Divas Band, and you can currently find her playing piano and leading worship for the praise team at First Baptist Indialantic. Her educational background includes a degree in Music from Northern Virginia.
Cartechine is currently furthering her studies in Business and Human Resource Management and is committed to using her skills and life experience to make a difference in the lives of others.
“I am excited to lead the Brevard Heart Foundation in its mission to improve and promote healthcare for Brevard County citizens and use her skills to continue positively impacting the community she calls home,” said Cartechine.
