McELHATTAN — Over $24,000 in charity money will be donated to several county-wide nonprofits by the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority.
A total of $24,654 will be donated, which was raised from the 22nd Annual John B. Hoy, Jr., Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was held on Sept. 29.
The money was spread out to the Clinton County Historical Society, Good Neighbor Center of the Renovo Council of Churches and the Covenant Cafe.
Representatives from local non-profits received checks from the Solid Waste Board during Wednesday’s monthly board of directors meeting at the Wayne Township Landfill (WTL).
The money will help the Historical Society continue to preserve the history within the county; help with food purchases for the Good Neighbor Center; and help fund supplies and activities for Alzheimer patients through the Covenant Cafe.
“On behalf of all of us with the management team and the board, we appreciate all the volunteer work that all of you put in to make this community as best as it can be. We’re glad we can help. That was John Hoy’s idea and mission… to utilize the resources of this company to give back to the community,” General Manager Jay Alexander expressed.
