In celebration of National Philanthropy Month this November, Grundy students, including homeschoolers, are encouraged to participate in an essay contest.
Students in grades 3rd – 5th are invited to submit a 100-word essay on the theme “Ways I Help Others.” Students in grades 6th – 8th can contribute a 250-word essay discussing “The Significance of Giving and Volunteering.” Students in grades 9th – 12th are encouraged to craft a 500-word essay on “Selecting a Grundy County Charity and Explaining Its Importance.”
All essays will be evaluated by a panel of community members. The top winner in each category will direct a $1,000 donation to a Grundy charity of their choice, with second place receiving $500 and third place receiving $250 for their selected charities.
Additionally, all nine winners will be awarded a $50 gift card. Student submissions can be made online at: cfgrundycounty.com and selecting the applicable grade level. Deadline to submit is November 12th.
An awards ceremony honoring the nine winners, along with their families and teachers, is scheduled for November 30th at 5:00 pm at Morris City Hall. For inquiries, please call Julie at 815-941-0852.
