AUBURN — Fundraising for Giving Tuesday DeKalb 2023 is underway and will continue through Nov. 17.
Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 and is known as a global generosity movement. Community members are encouraged to give generously to local nonprofits.
Organizations with endowment funds at the community foundation are invited to raise funds for their fund. The top five organizations that raise the most money will receive unrestricted grants from the foundation in the amounts of: $5,000 for first place; $3,000 for second place; $2,000 for third place; $1,000 for fourth place; and $1,000 for fifth place.
New this year, $3,000 will be awarded to the organization that sees the largest percent increase in fundraising.
The Community Foundation of DeKalb County will announce the winners on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28.

• In person at the Community Foundation DeKalb County between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 700 S. Main St., Auburn;
• Donating directly to the organization you wish to support, please specify that the donation is for its endowment fund.
Organizations participating in Giving Tuesday DeKalb 2023 are: Acres Land Trust, AgrIInstitute, Alliance Industries, Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, Auburn-Waterloo Trails, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Butler Public Library, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Catholic Charities, Children First Center, DeKalb County Council on Aging, DeKalb County Humane Society, DeKalb County Outdoor Theater, DeKalb’s Voices of Philanthropy, Eckhart Public Library, Garrett Public Library, Hearten House, Image of Hope, Inspiration Ministries, JAM Center, Junior Achievement Serving East Central DeKalb, Junior Achievement Serving Garrett, Shelter Ministries Inc., dba Sonshine Ministries; St. Martin’s Healthcare, United Way of DeKalb County, YMCA of DeKalb County and Youth for Christ.
