ZPMC Publishes First ESG Report, Showcasing Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Must Read

ZPMC (Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries) has officially released its first ESG report, providing detailed information on the group’s ESG development impact across three scopes. The report highlights key data and diagrams while actively addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The report is divided into three chapters, systematically revealing the company’s achievements in corporate governance, market development, scientific and technological innovation, environmental preservation, employee support, social welfare, media communication, and more.

Sustainable growth for a better ecology:
ZPMC is committed to achieving the “double carbon” objectives and strives to build “net-zero ports” through the establishment of intelligent ports. The company provides effective solutions to reduce carbon emissions in ports worldwide. Their gantry crane has transitioned from a hybrid diesel and lithium power system to the pure electric 601330 hydrogen-fuel cell and lithium battery system, achieving zero emissions.

Furthermore, ZPMC continuously conducts research and development on welding fumes, reducing concentration values by an average of 60% at each operation point. This figure is lower than the national standard and significantly improves the working environment in production workshops.

Contributing to a brighter future:
ZPMC upholds the principles of fulfilling social responsibilities and giving back to society. In 2022, the company donated one million yuan (USD 138,700) to support the development of Lanping County in Yunnan Province, including the hiring of 111 local employees. Additionally, ZPMC organized various public welfare events to help fulfill the wishes of employees and students in Yunnan.

Transformation and innovation for achieving quality development:
ZPMC drives quality development through innovation. They have initiated several significant projects in science and technology, including research and development of autonomous technology for key automation subsystems in port machinery. This enhances their industrial chain, providing greater independence and control.

In 2022, ZPMC expanded its flagship portfolio through innovative achievements, such as the world’s largest 140-meter-long pile-driving barge, wind power construction vessels “Wudongde” and “Baihetan,” and the world’s first automatic dismantling and locking machine.

Looking ahead, ZPMC will continue to uphold its original vision and commitments, striving to meet stakeholders’ expectations, fulfill its responsibilities, pursue advanced development, and create greater value for society. – Liu Chengyun, Party Secretary and President of ZPMC.
