(Savoy Foundation) will host its 26th annual Ballo di Savoia (Royal Savoy Ball) on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in New York City under the patronage of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Victor Emmanuel and Princess Marina of Savoy. H.R.H. Prince Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy and H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia will be guests of honor. The winter charity gala will celebrate also the 150th anniversary of the birth of Elena of Montenegro, Queen of Italy who was renowned for her selfless dedication to many charitable causes and welfare initiatives. The charity gala will raise funds for the Foundation’s mission– Chivalry for Children’s Causes™ – benefiting Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and A Chance in Life Organization.

(Savoy Foundation) announces its 26th annual Ballo di Savoia (Royal Savoy Ball) on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in New York City under the patronage of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Victor Emmanuel and Princess Marina of Savoy. H.R.H. Prince Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy, Prince of Venice and Prince of Piedmont, will be the guest of honor. H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia will also attend the white tie, winter charity gala supported by prominent business and community leaders and members and friends of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy. More than 300 guests are expected to attend the charity fundraiser at The University Club in New York City, which last year raised more than $100,000. The winter charity gala will celebrate also the 150th anniversary of the birth of Elena of Montenegro, Queen of Italy, who was renowned for her selfless dedication to many charitable causes, relief efforts and welfare initiatives which earned her the admiration and love of the Italian nation.
The event organizers are asking guests to help raise money again for the designated charities: “Cooley’s Anemia Foundation” which funds medical research and education to benefit individuals living with the genetic blood disorder, thalassemia, and “A Chance in Life – The Village of Staten Island Program,” a US-based program in New York City dedicated to providing shelter, education, and leadership development for at-risk youth.
In a statement concerning the 2023 Ballo di Savoia to be held on the weekend of December 8-10, Joseph Sciame, Savoy Foundation President and the 2023 Ball Chair, commented: “The Royal Savoy Ball is an evening full of inspiration, celebration, and philanthropy in support of the Savoy Foundation’s mission – Chivalry For Children’s Causes and a welcome event for new knights and dames entering the Savoy Orders through the American Delegation of Savoy Orders. Our mission is to promote the well-being of children, to provide hospitaller aid and to advance the millennial history of the Savoy Orders through support of scholarships and educational initiatives such as the Savoy History Series.”
The Ballo di Savoia is organized by the American Foundation of Savoy Orders, which is supported by 200 knights and dames in the United States who are members of the American Delegation of Savoy Orders. The American Delegation is part of the historic dynastic and chivalric Orders of the thousand-year Royal House of Savoy, which united Italy as a kingdom between 1860 and 1871.
Prior to Saturday’s evening Gala, a reception on Friday evening, December 8 at the Lotos Club will be held for guests attending the Royal Savoy Ball.

In 1946, when the Kingdom of Italy came to an end, the House of Savoy was the Europe’s oldest reigning dynasty.
