The grandeur of the 6th Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic unfolded on Sunday, October 8, as the event played host to an impressive gathering of Atlanta’s most influential personalities. This opulent affair, masterminded by the esteemed menswear designer Miguel Wilson and generously sponsored by Bentley Atlanta and The Corbett Group, was not merely a celebration of fashion and polo but a profound philanthropic endeavor in support of the Ride to the Olympics Foundation.

Distinguished guests included none other than Atlanta’s Mayor, Andre Dickens, who graced the occasion as an honored guest.

Miguel Wilson, the visionary behind this extravagant event, shared his enthusiasm, “This year was the best year we’ve had by far. We put a lot of work into this event every year, so to see the turnout and the response blows me away each and every time. One of the things that I am most proud of with the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic is that we work hard to give one of the most unique and luxurious experiences centered around fashion and polo. We also pride ourselves in treating each ticketholder like they’re a VIP.”

The guest list read like a who’s who of prominent figures, including Young Jeezy, Cynthia Bailey, Egypt Sherrod, Mike Jackson, Demetria McKinney, Lamman Rucker, Cocoa Brown, and Pastor Jamal Bryant. Their presence added a touch of glamour and sophistication to an already stellar event.

Over the course of six years, the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic has evolved from a one-day spectacle to a weekend extravaganza that commenced on Friday, October 6, this year. For ticketholders, the festivities kicked off with a welcoming soiree at the Starling Hotel. The following day, Saturday, Oct. 7, witnessed the Polo & Pumps Day party at the Starling Hotel and the Cocktails & Cigars Under the Stars rooftop soirée at the Thompson Hotel. However, the apex of attention and attendance was reserved for the signature Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic event on Sunday.

Sunday’s extravaganza featured a thrilling polo match, showcasing some of the nation’s finest polo players. Notably, Miguel Wilson and his wife, Chancey Wilson, actively participated in the match, representing the same team.

The fashion show that followed was a visual spectacle, highlighting both emerging and established designers. Celebrity participants included Mimi Faust, Martell Holt, Ralph Pittman, Michael Bolwaire, Damian Hall, and former NFL player JaMarcus Russell, all gracing the event’s runway.

Adding to the entertainment quotient, R&B sensations Q Parker and Lil G of SILK took to the stage, while actor Palmer Williams of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne fame assumed the role of emcee for this year’s fashion show.

Yet, the essence of the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic goes beyond glamour and style. Its primary mission is to raise funds for the Ride to the Olympics Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Miguel Wilson in 2018. This organization is committed to providing underprivileged youth with opportunities to participate in equestrian sports.

Among its many achievements, the foundation takes pride in spearheading the creation of the Morehouse Polo Club, the first-ever polo team at a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). For his unwavering efforts, Miguel Wilson received recognition from Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and the State of Georgia.

Presently, the Ride to the Olympics Foundation is dedicated to expanding its outreach by creating multiple youth polo teams.

Miguel Wilson expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’d like to thank Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens for participating in this year’s Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic. His support means a lot to me, in addition to the support that we received this year from Fulton County Arts & Culture (FACE). I’d also like to thank our longtime sponsors Bentley Atlanta and The Corbett Group, as well as all of our vendors who help make this event possible.”
